Summer pottery classes run for five weeks from June 10 - July 18, 2024. Class will meet once a week for five weeks, except the week of July 1st. Classes will be held at our studio in downtown Kimball. 

Registrations starts Monday April 8 at 9 am. Until then, classes will appear as 'Sold Out' on the website

Five summer week classes:

Mondays: Advanced Wheel, 6pm - 9pm

Instructor: JD

Expand your throwing skills! This class is intended for students who are comfortable centering, throwing cup and bowls. on the wheel. The class will focus on improving fundamental and explore more advanced throwing techniques. A variety of pottery forms including sets, lidded forms, teapots and weekly critique.

Tuesdays: Introduction to Pottery: Handbuilding and Wheel 11am - 2pm

Instructor: Megan

Explore both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. This class is designed for beginning students who are interested in a variety of ways to create handmade pottery. It would also be suitable for students with wheel throwing experience who wish to add handbuilding to their repertoire.

Tuesdays: Beginning Wheel, 6pm - 9pm

Instructor: Megan

Learn how to use the pottery wheel in this five week class geared for complete beginners or students with an introductory exposure to the wheel. During this class, students will learn to create a variety of forms on the wheel including cylinders, cups, mugs, bowls and plates. Students will also explore applying slip and glaze to the work.

Wednesdays : Beginning Wheel: Youth ages 10-16, 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Discover the joy of pottery this summer with our Beginning Wheel classes for youth ages 10-16. Develop your skills and unleash your creativity in a fun and supportive environment. Enroll now and create something beautiful!

Thursdays: Beginning Wheel, 10am - 1pm

Learn how to use the pottery wheel in this five week class geared for complete beginners or students with an introductory exposure to the wheel. During this class, students will learn to create a variety of forms on the wheel including cylinders, bowls and vases. Students will also explore applying slip and glaze to the work.

General class information:

The cost for each five week class is $200. The class fee includes class instruction, 25 pounds of clay, open studio access, access to our common tools, pottery wheels, ware racks, slips, glazes, bisque and glaze firing with up to two 12 x 24 kiln shelves of work. Additional firing costs may be incurred depending on the amount of work made. Firing costs will be calculated based on the number of 12 x 24 shelves used by each individual in our cone 10 reduction kiln. The cost per shelf is $25. 

General Open Studio hours, available for all registered students: 

These open studio hours are included in the cost of the class. Open studio hours start on June 14.

  • Mondays and Tuesdays: 4 - 9 pm
  • Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 10 am - 7 pm
  • Saturdays: 10 am - 5 pm

Extended open studio passes to access additional hours are available at an additional cost of $50/5 week classes for enrolled students. Those hours are:

  • Monday - Thursday: 8 am - 9 pm
  • Friday and Saturday: 8 am - midnight

Please note: 

Refunds on classes, retreats, and workshop enrollment can be made 30 days from the start date for full refund. Unfortunately, a refund will not be issued for the cost of class retreat or workshop after this time.
